How to use scanlogd

Hi, I would like to use scanlogd but I am not sure how to configure the necessary things for it and then how I can run and use it.

I could not find any tutorials or whatsoever.

If any one knows of any documents / tutorials that teaches you how to configure, run and use scanlogd, pls state the URL.
I have read the manual at <<http://www.openwall.com/scanlogd/scanlogd.8.shtml>> but do not really get it cause I am new at this.

I am running redhat 9.
Hope someone can help and guide me in this process

Thanks
James
