how to use linux as firewall on an old computer

need advice on using linux on an older p3 system as a firewall for my home
computer. is this possible? I'm on dialup

I dont know if I will be much help but my brother inlaw used to use a Firewall Linux distro called smoothwall. Maybe look that one up or do a google for "linux firewalls" or something.

you should also look into ipcop
