how to use ImageMagick for dummies dummy

/ImageMagick-6.4.9-6/ what do the codes mean?
how do you use them?
how do you resize photo to send gmail?
complete novice ,any help would be appreciated

Have you considered using, and entering a search word, such as "imagemagick"?

Have you tried the ImageMagick website to see what documentation is offered?
