how to use a USB scanner
Hi, im using redhat9
and have NO IDEA where to start.
i want to scan a photo to the computer.
ALSO, i would like the file saved as a jpeg (for emailing)
could any1 help please ???

You need to check on this page - http://hardware.redhat.com/hcl/ - to see if your scanner is compatible with Red Hat. Many are not. |

Once your scanner is detected and working, then you need to use an image capture utilty that talks to twain compliant scanners, like SANE, and an image manipulation program like the GIMP.
