How to upgrade tomcat in CentOs5?
Hello
We have centOs 5 in our server. It is providing Tomcat5 by default but we want to upgrade it to tomcat6 or 7. So how can we upgrade it? Also how can we change this old repository of centOs5 which is pointing a old softwares.
please help us to solve this problem.

Well from reading your post and doing a little searching it looks like tomcat7 has not yet been added to the repositories as its still in Beta. There are a few rpms you can find to try and install it but I would advise against it. If you really need to upgrade to tomcat7 your best option at this point will be to compile from source. You will download the tarball from tomcat7.com and follow these steps http://tomcat.apache.org/tomcat-7.0-...ml#Unix_daemon.

Nope. Not until it gets added by a package maintainer which usually doesn't occur until an application has moved out of the beta stages. Tomcat7 is still currently in beta.
