How to unzip files in RHEL?


what is the best way to unzip files in rhel?

Hello and welcome to LQ.

I'd think unzip would still be in RH (but I get the feeling it may need to be added?) Many other programs might be able to convert it to an uncompressed state also if all else fails.

You should have unzip, and using it as TBOne suggest will extract into the current directory: read all about it with the command man unzip.

If you have a GUI running, you can just click on the file in the file manager and the archive manager will show you the contents, which you can drag and drop into a folder in the file manager — just like Windows!
