how to synchronize system time with gps reciever

hi
i need help from u people regarding time synchronization in linux through external device.Actually my target is using GPS reciever i have to synchronize the gps time with my system clock in linux platform,no server is connected (its not in network niether internet is there)can any one suggest me how to do this,pls if anyone knows kindly help me its urgent.
