How to stop Linux boot up?
Hi,
I have just changed the version of JBOSS that I run on my Mandrake 9 box. When the box boots up it tries to start the JBOSS daemon but something goes wrong and it stops subsequent daemons from starting (e.g. ssh) and never gets to a login prompt. Question is, how can stop the init.d scripts running so that the JBOSS script never runs and I can get a login and try to sort it out? many thanks. |
A bootable CD distro would be your best bet... Use it to alter the init.d links...

During boot, get into the Interactive boot mode by pressing "I" when prompted, say no when you are requested to start JBoss.
