How to stop cpu throttling
Hi,
Iam trying to install Atlas to install quantum chemistry software Gamess.It asks me to stop throttling the cpu.
the commands I used were;
sudo apt-get install cpufrequtils
sudo cpufreq-set -c 0 -g performance
sudo cpufreq-set -c 1 -g performance
sudo cpufreq-set -c 3 -g performance
sudo cpufreq-set -c 4 -g performance
Then the terminal displays.
Do you have proper administration rights? (super-user?)
- Is the governor you requested available and modprobed?
- Trying to set an invalid policy?
- Trying to set a specific frequency, but userspace governor is not available,
for example because of hardware which cannot be set to a specific frequency
or because the userspace governor isn't loaded?
I have dell laptop with I5 processor,4 gb RAM,500GB hard disc.I have allocated 20 gb for ubuntu.
