Hi I just downloaded Backtrack 5 gnome and kde. After I burned the iso to disk I tried to use it. I can get to the boot screen, but after that I get test box with open gui and I can not use the keyboard. How do I try out backtrack? I have the same problem with virtualbox.
Thank you

PS this is my virtualbox error when I try to start a 64bit os
VT-x/AMD-V hardware acceleration has been enabled, but is not operational. Your 64-bit guest will fail to detect a 64-bit CPU and will not be able to boot.
Please ensure that you have enabled VT-x/AMD-V properly in the BIOS of your host computer.

I doubt you have any use for Backtrack. Consider a different distro.

Not all systems can run a VM properly. Can I assume you have checked bios for any setting related to virtual systems? They may have odd names to select in bios.
I assume you have a 32 bit OS and are trying to get a 64 bit OS to run. If so, why?
I am currently using Ubuntu 12.04 64 byte dual booted with windows 7 64. I down loaded Backtrack as a 32 byte os twice, once in gnome desktop and the other in kde desktop. Currently I am still a novice so I am trying out many different os in Virtualbox. I am trying to find a few that I like the feel and power of a smooth operating system. I do have an up to date pc so I would like to find something that will use its full potential in speed and graphics. I really don't play many games I am at the moment focusing my attention on learning html, php, orca, and dos. I am trying to build me a fantastic website to use for my business, and I also want to learn as much about programing and security out of my own interests. I like 3d animation, blender is complicated at the moment, but I'm getting the hang of it. Daz 4 is cool and so is Adobe Dreamweaver. I like using the Adobe cs6 because of the bridge which allows merging of different files to integrate into Dreamweaver and Autodesk 3D Max. I would like to merge completely away from windows in the next 7 months. That is why I am using virtualbox at the moment for testing different os.
Thank you
