Question How to split the terminal screen vertically

Hey, I want to split the terminal screen into two regions and it seems the screen command can only do it horizontally. I just wonder if I can split the screen vertically like emacs C-X 3.

Can anyone tell me how to do that? thanks for your help.

Beats me, they aren't my configs and I don't actually use screen at all... I'd say the screenrc is definitely needed Just have to have a play I guess.

is there any way of having a vertical splitted console output?
the GNU screen seems to split only horizontally

I need eg. two iftop sessions side-by-side, so horizontal split helps nothing
