How to speed up the mouse cursor?
 

How the *m33pm33p* can I speed up the movement of my mouse?
Mandrake 9.2 KDE 31.

Ive searched for the instructions for ages but seems like noone knows... Is there even any way? :)

why don't u try looking in the control panel of your desktop environment.
like KDE or Gnome control panels.

tried them, havent found anything except one option, changing my mouse type.

With KDE Control Panel (Not Mandrake Control Center), navigate to the peripherals line and click on it. Click on mouse. Click on the advanced tab and set your acceleration and threshold from there. That seems to be the easiest (and GUI) way to do it.

Read your help manual that came with your desktop environment that you use. You'll learn a lot for an hour or so worth of reading. Your mouse problem? 3 seconds with the search button on the KDE help center: term-->mouse

i've had this problem before, even after configureing the mouse (like its speed and sensitivity) my mouse is still so slow and wierd to use ( i was using mandrake 9.2)
i found out that apparantly mandrake 9.2 has some issues with my mouse setup.

now i am using mandrake 10 rc1 and there is no problem.

Now that you got it the conventional way, I'll tell you about a switch for your Pointer section of your XF86Config-4 file that works well for that purpose. Its:This line, when added to your mouse section changes the pixel resolution that your mouse works at. I had a Labtec Optical mouse that was jumpy when used. I added that value (400 worked well for me. BTW Microsoft defaults theirs to 300 and mice work on Windows). I noticed that the higher the resolution, the farther my mouse moved for a given movement. It didn't go wierd as messing with the accelleration can sometimes do. This took me many hours of googling to find so I thought I'd share it. This a more "direct" way of messing with your mouse, so I didn't mention it before. But, someone might find this useful :)
