how to solve the cannot find lX11

I am trying to run the Khepera simulator version 2 in Red Hat LInux 9. But after I enter the make command, I get the ff. error/messages:

/usr/bin/ld: cannot find -lX11
collect2: ld returned 1 exit status
make: *** [sim] Error 1

What do I do? And also, I've read in other posts that they just edit the makefile. I am new to Linux and would also like to ask how do you edit a makefile? Thanks...

You don't have development packages for X installed (libX, XFree-devel or similar package). You need to install it from the Development packages (from your installation cd). Note that you probably need more than this one. If you have space, install most of the development packages.
