Hey, I installed Suse 9.1 personal not to long ago and whenever it boots, it hangs for a while on my windows partitions. It stops then says resetting drive, it takes a bit of time and is annoying. Is there a way to bypass this with a hotkey or something?
Also, my sound seems to not be working now. When i check the hardware it shows up fine, but it won't play anything. I just get a feedback sound when i turn the volume up. Any suggestions?
It is a built in Nforce2. I have an Asus a7n8 deluxe Mobo and it is built in. No i have not tried that command. I am brand new to the linux environment and didn't even know where to start. Wasn't sure how to reload drivers etc.
welcome to linux :-) Asus mobo`s are pretty good with linux compatibility/vice versa and nforce as u know is nvidia if u go their website they have drivers for their hardware. Try having a look there and following the readme file which will come with their driver download, post back if u have any problems with it.
alsaconf as Cheeseboy says is a command to configure ur soundcard
Also, if you run the alsaconfig program and you can hear the sample sound, but can't hear things as a regular user, make sure that you are a member of the 'audio' group.
