how to setup linux in HP xt6200 laptop?

how do I setup a partition here in my laptop? I plan to use te OEM OS that came along the laptop. Windows XP...need help...thanks!

As for partitioning, you can use the programs that come with any OS your going to install or if you have an existing OS setup and want to split the existing partition, you can use a program like Partition Magic to do it safely without deleting or damaging your data.

Try searching as well on the forums and as this is asked all the time and is quite apparently a vague question. Asking more specific questions will most likely get specific answers, instead of a question like this will most likely gear you towards an online source to read from to get your answer as most here are going to rewrite novels to give you the answer you are seeking...
