How to setup LAN with Debian-Windows
hm.. i have debian on one computer & windows on the other.. the windows is the main computer as it has 2 NIC one connects to the network the other connects through the internet.. and the one with debian, i onlie have 1 NIC and it connects to the network... so how do i get internet for my debian computer?

You'll need to enable Internet connection sharing on the Windows machine and then configure the Linux box so that the internal interface of the Windows machine is its default gateway. Assuming the internal IP of the Windows box is and you wanted to assign the Linux box IP the commands would be:

ifconfig eth0 up
route add default gw

and you should be set. You could put those commands into your rc.local file so they get executed at every boot, or consult your distro's documentation for the correct networking startup script to modify.

weird... like i did that.. didnt work.... i have zonealarmpro on my windows system,. which is the one i'm using... and its like this

+ is under the trusted network
+ returned when i type ipconfig in the windows DOS
