how to set screen saver.

mandrake 10.0

i am running KDE.
i have one image that is jpg file.
now how to set that image to my background image from command mode.
i mean put a given file to my kde background form command mode.

Do you mean the background, or the screen saver?
If the background, drag the jpg file to the desktop, and let go. A little menu should pop up, saying 'copy here' , 'move here' , 'set as background' (or something similar) and 'cancel'
Choose 'set as background' .If that doesn't work, or if you want it as a screensaver, open the KDE control center and configure it there

Why do you want to use command mode to set a background in KDE?
Setting background with command is for lighter window managers, i.e. fluxbox, etc since they don't come with a GUI utility to achieve this(who needs one when we are using fluxbox, anyway )
But in KDE, you can do it in full GUI mode.
