How to send mail by postfix to gmail in red hat linux 6.3
 

Hi to all

i have configured postfix mail server in red hat linux 6.3 with static ip and domain name is working fine.when i am trying to send e-mail to yahoo and it appears in spam.when i am sending to my gmail account then mail has not been send.it works with yahoo although in spam but try to send in gmail account it doesn't.i don't know what is reason behind this.

Hi,

GMail is very picky about the security of the sending server, and from what I can tell, your server is not setup very well (otherwise yahoo would not put your mails in the spam folder).

If Google does not accept your mail, it should return a mail with the reason why it was not accepted. Or it never reached google in the first place. Can you please post the relevant part of /var/log/maillog ?

Also, run your mail domain through this site: http://www.emailsecuritygrader.com/ ; it may give you some good tips on what to setup (e.g. your reverse DNS etc).

piyushsingh Using Sendmail as my SMTP server I receive similar results to you if I do not include my ISPs smtp server name in my sendmail.mc config file even though my server is naturally connected via their broadband line.... Give it a try

lpwevers I ran the mail server test per your link - very intuitive - I achieved a result of 90% - Very Strong Security with a percentile score of 94% meaning that my sever is in the top 6% of all severs that they have ran the test against - Heck Yeah!!! The areas where I didn't receive a point or was deducted are fortunately not significant for me. Am I now tempting fate by publishing this result? - Oops, I hope not.....
