How-To Run PPPoE as a user

Hi,

I have my internet setup and it work like a charm but only when I run pppoe-start as a root. I'd like to be able to start and stop my dsl connection without root access anymore.

I checked all the files of the rp-pppoe package and there's no man. The config doesn't tell me how to do this and I've also failed in finding that information on 3 forums :`(

tkx for trying to help!

these commands are meant specificaly to be run by root. if you really want others to have access to it, try chmod 777 pppoe-start, or add the users who you want to sudo.

I have tried tk-pppoe earlier (http://roaringpenguin.luky.org/pppoe/tkpppoe/)

You can use that. In that case, it will show more options (configs) if run as a root user or will show basic option (start, stop) if run as a normal user.

Give this a try. May be it can solve your problem :)
