How to run MPlayer GUI ?

I had recently downloaded the MPlayer 's recent gz'ed source and build the program with passing parameter in ./configure as --enable-gui . It compiled successfully and installed.

But the problem is when i start the "gplayer" , it doesn't run . after checking it's output i figured that it need a font + a skin downloaded and installed . I did it correctly.
But still it refuses to run !

what may be the problem ? Can any body help me ???

the command isn't gplayer, it's gmplayer...

And you need at least one skin installed under ~/.mplayer/Skins
