how to run an executable in console mode
hello again... iŽd like to install my nvidia video driver but it can only be done in console mode... i already know how to exit to console mode... what i dont know is the command to make the executable file run... here is the name of the executable:
NVIDIA-Linux-x86-1.0-6629-pkg1.run
the reason i want to install this driver is that my machine seems to run slow when im using linux... my machine is an AMD sempron running at 1.5ghz, 256mb RAM, geforce3 MX...

All will be OK, I'm sure, if you follow instructions in README.
http://www.nvidia.com/object/linux_d..._1.0-6629.html

Type "sh NVIDIA-Linux-x86-1.0-6629-pkg1.run" to install the driver, then edit your X config file as appropriate. See the text README for more detailed instructions.

you said stir
he said there are a lot of spoons
thus he's implying that what you said happens often (and it does)

Basically, this is a soup mix. Everybody has learned a different way of doing things. Therefore, when you ask a question you may get more than one way to fix something or make something work.
All that is good though. Sometimes one way may not work where the other does. That also helps when someone with the same problem is searching for help. They can try more options before asking and having to wait on help.
I'll get my spoon now. Don't want the soup to start to stick. Actually, I'll be stirring roofing tar today. I have a leak in my roof. Rain is on the way. This ain't good.
