Question How to run a program on startup on kali

Hello,

I have installed gkrellm for monitoring cpu and ram. Everytime when I restart the computer, I need to start gkrellm too. How can I make it start automatically when I reboot the computer? I have tried some ways but none worked for me (tried to put a "code.desktop" file in autostart folder in config/autostart)

Thanks in advance for your help,

Btw: gkrelmms directory is "/usr/bin/gkrellm",

I'm assuming you've read https://www.linuxquestions.org/quest...ad-4175614092/ Right? Because it will make a big difference on the type of reply you get from other members if you mention you've read it.

Ok, However you also do not specify what you tried already, which makes it hard for anybody to help you.

Well Mill, I see how you are into chatting but I'm really busy and need to fix the problem here.

Likely you can start it from your .profile file, or if you run a GUI, your .xinitrc file.

(gk suggests it is a GUI program.)
