How to rollback versions

I posted a similar question in the redhat forum but i think it was too specific. basically what happened is i had the redhat network update all my files (i just reinstalled redhat 8 on my system). it updated glibc in the process and now when i go to install the RPM for gcc it says that it cant find it because it is looking for a lower version number.

is there an easy way to fix this problem? i DO NOT want to individually uninstall and reinstall all the packages that depend on glibc...
