How to resize Avidemux window?
How can I resize the Avidemux window so it fits on my screen. I am running Linux Mint 18.3 and Avidemux 2.7.0. When I open Avidemux the window is to long to fit on my screen. I zoomed out to 4 to 1 but I still have the same problem. It does have an extra tool bar for opening or saving a video which may save some vertical space if I could find a way to get rid of it.

This has worked for me with other programs, though I haven't had the occasion to use it Avidemux.
Alt-Left Click and Hold anywhere in the window. Then you should be able to move the window so that the window edge comes into view. Then you should be able to grab the window edge with the mouse and resize it. |
Alt left click drags screen but still can't resize vertical
Alt Left click drags screen but still can't resize vertical. I can expand horizontal.

Does this mean that, after moving the screen so that an edge or corner is visible and then grab an edge/corner with mouse, the mouse pointer does not change into the "resize" mouse pointer or that the pointer changes, but the window doesn't respond?

Can't make window smaller.
The pointer changes to the resize pointer but the window does not respond when I try to raise the bottom border. It allows me to make the window bigger but not any smaller both vertically and horizontally.

seems to be app specific.
you should ask avidemux users/developers, or raise an issue. |
