How to replace Windows partition with ChaletOS on dual boot

Right now I have Linux Mint and Windows 7 set up as a dual boot. I'd like to replace the Windows partition with ChaletOS. I never use Windows and have no reason to keep it. Also I don't want to back up any files on the Windows.

How do I go about this (safely)?

Hello and welcome to LQ.

Safely is backup what you need to start and test backup.

Most linux distro's are pretty good about installing. You should be able to use the linux installer to delete the windows partitions and go.

This assumes a few things. One is that the installer knows what it is doing. Two is that you read carefully what it is saying. (trust me on this, I know).

Three is no odd install issues like raid, grub issues and what not.

Most Linux won't install to an NTFS partition. After the above, delete the Win7 partition(s) from Mint, and leave the space unallocated - the installer will use that hopefully.
