How to remove sumo from ubuntu?

First I installed SUMO-0.21.0 in Ubuntu 12.04. Now I am trying to remove it as I want to install SUMO-0.12.3 in order to use MOVE but as I execute command as sudo apt-get remove sumo
error comes as unable to locate package sumo. I have already tried the command sudo apt-get update. If you can help with it.
Thank you

Sorry but why would you want to install a very much older version of sumo than the one you have now? Regarding the issue of removing sumo can you install the aptitude
package if it's not already installed.
Code:

sudo apt-get install aptitude
Next, post the output of this command:
Code:

aptitude search sumo
I don't have sumo installed and here's what I get.
Quote:

~$ aptitude search sumo
p sumo - Simulation of Urban MObility (SUMO)
p sumo:i386 - Simulation of Urban MObility (SUMO)
p sumo-doc - Simulation of Urban MObility (SUMO), documentation a
p sumo-tools - Simulation of Urban MObility (SUMO), tools and scrip

@beiinnovative : Welcome to LQ.

Removing sumo-0.21.0 : $ sudo apt-get remove sumo

← Post #2, @jdkaye :
Sumo-0.12.3 is for special purposes, e.g. MOVE.jar .
I.e. MOVE isn't working well with the later sumo versions.

@knudfl Thanks for the info. I checked the Debian repos and it seems you can't get a version earlier than 0.15 (Wheezy) so I guess you're out of luck if you use Debian.
