Startup

Use the "startup applications" applet from the control center. This allows you to add/remove and enable/disable applications during launch.

I've used in recent versions of Fedora... hopefully it's available in F8, I can't remember.

Thanks for you quick reply.

I am not able to find startup application applet. But, I found this can be done by editing "/root/.kde/Autostart/"

.. Or delete all files in the hidden directory

' /home/"username"/.config/autostart/ '

.. which is the same as using the control center.
.....

EDIT : And it is unsafe to be logged in as root.
Please log in as ordinary user.

It looks like F8 uses GNOME 2.20.x
According to the GNOME documentation for that release your required setting is in "Sessions Preferences"

Look at this page or browse thar website for your exact GNOME version:
http://library.gnome.org/users/user-...custsession-12
