You want to remove Linux from your Dad's computer (which you once used instead?).

You didn't say if he was running Windows 95/98 or XP. For Windows 95/88, run "fdisk /mbr" to write a fresh MBR. Then delete the old Linux partitions.

For XP, if you have a windows XP install disk, boot up with it and choose to run the rescue console. The run the "fixmbr" program from the menu. If the computer came with XP preinstalled, selecting XP from the lilo menu and quickly pressing the function key for the rescue option should allow the same thing. When you are sure that XP boots as it should, delete the Linux partitions.

Be sure you get Windows booting OK before replacing the partitions. Lilo has two parts to it, and one of them might be located on a Linux partition.

If it is just the Lilo boot loader he doesn't like, it can be replaced with the windows loader with a menu option for linux. Googling for "Linux NTldr boot.ini dual boot" will bring up a number of web page HOW-TOs containing instructions. It also has been written about many times on this site as well.

Well, first remove LILO. Here it says how (the first result of the google search for "remove lilo", I'm not surprised it's on Microsoft's site .
Then you can format the partition from within Windows using Partition Magick or Acronis... or some other partitioning tool. Or probably with MS-DOS fdisk.
However, just google for "removing lilo","uninstall lilo", "uninstall linux" if you want more detailed info.

btw: cool nick, heh
