Now I canot load Vista, as prompt for grub> come before . Now how can I remive "grub" from my machine. I have Vista recovery disc only. Please help? snborah |
You should be able to edit the grub menu file with a liveCD to include Vista, then just use that. I'm not sure how to completely uninstall it with Vista though...(I don't like Vista)

I don't know how things are done with Vista, but try booting that recovery disk and try running a recovery:
If you manage to get to some command-prompt to run the recoveries try: fixmbr (fix master boot record), that used to be the trick with Win XP, else try snborah's idea, it should work. |

From the grub prompt you can probably do: grub> rootnoverify (hd0,0) grub> makeactive grub> chainloader +1 grub> boot (if Windows is on the first primary partition.) You are going to need to run "fixmbr" from the install CD or Windows to get rid of grub. |
