How to Remote Desktop to Computer with Dynamic Ip.

Hi,

I have a linux box at home that is behind a router. I would like to know how to remote desktop into that machine from outside the network. To complicate things I have a dynamic IP. I already signed up with dyndns.org to get a domain name(blah.dyndns.org), and have ddclient.conf working correctly on my home linux box to update blah.dyndns.org whenever my IP changes. Can someone guide me in the right direction on how to remote desktop into my linux box at home?

You will have to setup port forwarding to forward the traffic from your wan interface on the router to the client accepting the connections. If your client is getting it's address from dhcp, you will have to set a dhcp reservation based on the mac address of the network card so it has the same address to forward the traffic to.
Look at your router's manual to figure how to do this.
