how to reload linux?

I would like to reload my HD, 160 GB, into about 5-6 partitions and load a distro of linux on one of the partitions. My current set up is, 2 hds for my WIN XP home and the 3rd is the one I mentioned above. The current linux HD is hooked up via a PCI hd extender card from the motherboard.

I want to delete the Suse 9.1 Linux partition on the HD and re-install it. Also I wanted to set up the partitions on it before I reload it. Can I do that via the linux install? Yes, i'm new to Linux and just in the learning stage.

The computer specs: Gateway PIII 933 Mhz.

Thanks.

Yup, you can do that all from the Installation! And, as SUSE brings a nice, pretty GUI partitioner, you shouldn't have a problem. ;)
