How to record video of a browser window/tab?

I'm using a program called "DroidCam" to utilize my Android device as a cameara which I can see at a url on my Firefox (or Chrome/Chromium) browser.

What is a good extension I can install that will allow me to capture the video of the browser screen/tab only? Would even be nice(r) if I could only have it record when there is motion on the video.

I have installed numerous extensions/add ons for Chrome/Chromium and Firefox without having any success in an extension/add on actuall doing the job.

"Kazam" the best for screen recording, it also as an option to pause and take screenshots.
They have an option to record live window and the entire desktop at the same time.
Amazing tool.

I would not do that. I would open up the browsers web inspector and find the url or virtual url that the video is coming from. Then dump that stream to file. You can start and stop that how you wish.

A screen cap is processor intensive and unless you dump it raw, which makes a huge file, then you'll have to reencode the capture to file. Every time you reencode you loose quality.

Find the url and get it with curl, or dump the video stream to file with mplayer, or use pythons urllib to dump it, etc

^ Absolutely.
Try to find a real solution instead of this horrible hack.
