how to reboot after install?

After getting all the stuff I wanted installed in slack, I cannot seem to reboot. I'm at the command prompt logged in as root, and CTRL-ALT-DEL doesnt work. I tried the shutdown command, but I cant seem to get the syntax right...

I type: shutdown -r time now

Am I doing something wrong?

Try #init 5 (Shuts down all process and switches off system)
#init 6 (Shuts down all process and reboots system)
#init 0 (Shuts down all process and display's OK prompt - not x86 system)

Uh huh...you may as well tell me to look for the "any" key. I have NO idea what the SysRq key is.
