How to read /var/spool/mail/root?

It's weird. I got this message for this first time after I run yum update. I have been using Fedora since Core 1.

The message says:
You have new mail in /var/spool/mail/root

I can vim it, but it's not a very direct way. Can I read it with some tool?

Just login as root (or su) using a console and type: <mail> you can also redirect root mail to yourself bypassing the need to use the root account to read root mail.
