do a 'ls sd*' in /dev and make note of which devices show up. plug in the drive and do another ls and see if there are any new devices that appear. if there are a bunch of devices it may be showing you more than just what is actually there. if this is the case you can browse /sys to figure out what device the drive apears as. if it for instance appears as /dev/sda1 you would make a directory to hold the mount, say /mnt/usb and type 'mount /dev/sda1 /mnt/usb'.

Or if red hat 9 does it like fedora, check /media to see if it automatically mounts the drive there.

you type that at a terminal/console/command prompt/whatever you want to call it. you can get to one by pressing ctrl+alt+f1 or from within kde/gnome there will be an entry in the menu like "terminal" or "console".

also, doing "dmesg | grep sda" with the drive plugged in might be easier, because some distros create up to 100 sda devices...

But When i insert USB stick it does not recognize usb

because there is nothing in hardware browser

of something like

/dev/sda or /dev/sda1
