How to query a LDAP server

After a command like:

Code:
$ ldapsearch -x -w PASSWORD \(CN=*Felipe*\)
... I get:

Code:
# extended LDIF
#
# LDAPv3
# base <dc=serpro,dc=gov,dc=br> (default) with scope subtree
# filter: (CN=*Felipe*)
# requesting: ALL
#

# search result
search: 2
result: 0 Success

# numResponses: 1
How can I see the result?

I will try to find a Java app to do that, and see if the result changes - need a simple method to query LDAP here...

Which directory server (and version)?

You can also download (here) and try LDAP Browser/Editor by Jarek Gawor.
