how to print labels on openoffice.orgCalc

I am extremely new to Linux...I went to openoffice.orgCalc, NEW, LABELS, and entered in the size labels I needed to print. The Screen never showed the label format, it simply stayed as one blank sheet. I have generic labels (Office Depot, size 8167) and when I enter that size, nothing happens. Am I doing something wrong or is there something I'm forgetting? Please help.

Try it in OO writer instead. I've used it several times. Once the get the label typed in, select the letter sheet size, and the Avery 8167. Then click on the format tab, and do whatever you need to do. Then click on the option tab, and select Entire Page. Last, click on New Document.
If the font is not right (wrong font, too large, etc), edit the top left cell (it's the only one you can edit).
Then check the heip file. There are instructions for Synchronize Contents, which will apply changes to the top left cell to the entire sheet.

Hi there,

I am also very new to Linux and have not attempted printing labels for a very long while when i was still using word and excel with windows. I downloaded some templates as i could never get the text to print within the margains. Since then i have now started using a british labels company instead for printing my address labels.
