how to print from a samsung tab3 to a raspberry PI printer server? (hp4110-allin1)
hello,
I have a printer server in the house. I can can print from the "notebook ubuntu 12.04" and "netbook win7" and now trying to print from the galaxy tab3 (android). I am looking in the internet since few hours but could not find a solution (except send the file to the notebookand print from here).
Is any advice here how to print direct from the samsung tab3 (in the same network than the printer)? Thanks.
Presuming you are all on the same wifi, have you tried to install a printer on the tab? Or maybe an account on the server? Mention your OS. Is the Pi bluetooth capable? have you tried bluetoothing stuff across?
Printing from Android is problematic. I use PrinterShare, which requires the paid key to work well. Using that, I can print to any networked printer, either wifi or bluetooth. PrinerShare finds the printer and downloads the drivers to print to it. I'm not sure how it works with a print server, since my printer is connected to the router via ethernet, but if the printer is exposed on the network, PrinterShare should find it. There is no direct printing protocol available in Android, as far as I have been able to find, but there are software solutions available. The Play Store has many for trial.

The printer hp4110 is connected via usb to the raspberry PI with linux raspbian, which is connected wired to a router (with wlan)
the samsung tab3 with android is connected to the wlan of that router
no bluetooth on the raspberry pi
samsung have a print app in their software package. Android had a java print class. These are the foundation for any driver. look for a print driver in the play store. post your results.
