man net
I'm assuming it's a Windows 200x domain net join rpc -S servername -U sysadmin_userid |
This is a relatively easy process to perform.
The first thing you need to do is make sure that you have all necessary information: * Active Directory Domain Name * Destination Domain Administrative User account login credentials * DNS Server ip address(es) * Correct TCP/IP information, IP Address, Subnet Address, Gateway Address Test to make sure your dns settings are proper for your environment. You need to be able to resolve the server by name from the Linux system and the Linux system by name from the Windows system. Once you have verified all the above you are ready to perform the domain join. 1. Start YaST 2. Click on Network Services 3. Click on Windows Domain Membership and follow the wizard. This process should take no longer than 5 - 10 minutes to complete. Good luck! |
Thanks a lot wgamradt for ur detailed reply. I appreciate ur help.

We can and will be happy to provide help with a SPECIFIC question/problem, but you're asking us to look up instructions for you. Please try Google for any of the easily-found how-to guides on joining Linux systems to active directory. Also, you don't say WHAT you want to join (Squid? LDAP? Some other service?), so we can't even tell you what to search for. |
