I have xmms player but it is saying it wont support mp3 songs due to some problems. however with some effort over the net, i can able to hear mp3 songs on linux. but how to play video files i.e, dat files and mpeg files? please help me to run video files on linux. Please use step-by-step process. thanks and regards, Romeo. |

you visit above websit ,maybe have help for you notice follow key word SMPEG for XMMS |
if you want to play every kind of mediafile, you hould think about intalling mplayer
with the right codecs it can play everything: mpeg, wmv, dvd, quicktime, avi, ... check out their site: http://www.mplayerhq.hu/homepage/ EDIT 2: messy post, sorry |
uh... all you need to do is make sure that you ve installed a video player. Are you running on Gnome or kde? You could use mplayer, totem and there are others, if you dont have one of them install look around and see which you would like to use and you can use yum to install it. You can run a yum search and see which version is available, good luck
