how to play .amr files


I've installed mplayer in my rhel system.It can play all vaiety of files except amr.how will I play .amr files in mplayer ?

You need to convert them. This should do the job.

Another option is to compile mplayer with ARM support:

  --enable-armv5te          enable DSP extensions (ARM) [autodetect]
  --enable-armv6            enable ARMv6 (ARM) [autodetect]
  --enable-armv6t2          enable ARMv6t2 (ARM) [autodetect]

Bro, while executing it pops up the following message,

You need to install from source
download the tar file

As repo said. By default mplayer is built without arm support, but developers have foreseen the usage of mplayer with arm files. You have to build it by yourself: download the source code and follow instructions in the README and INSTALL files, enabling the option I listed in my previous post.

Hello Awesome,vlc is unable to play .amr files.

There are legal issues involved which mean that you have to compile it yourself (vlc too). check it out here:
