How to network two different GNU/Linux OSes?
Hello, good afternoon. :)
Does anyone here knows how to network two different GNU/Linux OSes? I have a notebook and desktop computer here. The Operating System of my notebook is Easypeasy and my desktop computer is Linux Mint. I already install the Samba on both computers. I could open the folders that I shared under my Documents. But when I tried to open the shared folder under the NTFS drives or even the drives itself (of my notebook or desktop computer) it will prompt an error. This is the error: "Unable to mount location. Failed to mount Windows share." Thanks and God bless. :) |
Sharing files is not networking. Once the machines can ping each other then networking is done with. Moved to Linux - Software.

Hello acid kewpie, good evening. :)
I see, thanks for correcting me acid. Just posted in the Linux-Software. Take care and God bless. :) |
Hi,
you don't have to use Samba if you don't have Windows. You can share Linux-folders via NFS. Look here: http://www.linux-tutorial.info/modul...ent&pageid=150 or google for NFS Markus |
Hello markush, good evening. :)
Looks like using NFS as a protocol of file sharing is difficult. Lots of commands to be inputted. So I just used samba since it's a user-friendly. Thanks anyway markush. Take care and God bless. :) |
