Depending on what sort of install you chose, Samba should be pre-installed with your distro. NFS support should already be built in, i believe.
The best way to find out would be to check man pages, and/or the websites. Do a google search for NFS or Samba at
www.google.com/linux. Here is a pre-made search at google.com/linux for "samba":

The other way to install these into the OS is to use the package manager that came with your OS (i.e. Synaptic for Ubuntu, yum for fedora etc) and do a search for "samba" or NFS.
