how to make p2p with linux and windows
i want to make peer to peer using linux/windows and linux/linux. i know that i need to use samba and nts protocols. but how do i use them? and did i need to get them somewhere else or its already in the os?

Depending on what sort of install you chose, Samba should be pre-installed with your distro. NFS support should already be built in, i believe.
The best way to find out would be to check man pages, and/or the websites. Do a google search for NFS or Samba at www.google.com/linux. Here is a pre-made search at google.com/linux for "samba": http://www.troubleshooters.com/linux/samba.htm (this was the first search result, fyi) The other way to install these into the OS is to use the package manager that came with your OS (i.e. Synaptic for Ubuntu, yum for fedora etc) and do a search for "samba" or NFS. Hope this helps Cheers Damo |
p2p using live cd
what if i want to use them in live cd. its use the same procedure ?

Whoa! Live CD??
That changes the shape of things! Like, in a massive way! |
really?
huhu..
really? how that changed? because i try and i cannot connect to owindows pc. its ok if you can give me the web. i appriciate that. |
The reason why it changes things now that you have mentioned Live CD?
Because now, we dont have a real lot installed on your machine. The *best* thing to do in this situation would be to install and then try installing SAMBA and NFS that way. that is, of course if your live CD does not already have these on the disc..... |
