how to make my wi-fi work and detect other the wireless internet!!!!
how do i activate my wireless internet in my debian operating system, i have tried but there have been no fruits. Or rather is there anybody who has is using debian operating system and has his or her wireless internet working.

In a terminal you could use these commands: Code:
iwlist wlan0 scan Code:
wlan0 Scan completed : Next the following commands, putting in your data of course. Your key is of course only needed if you have some form of protection enabled on your wireless. Like shown below the key must be in hex if I'm not mistaking, to put it in ascii you'll need to add -s switch: Code:
iwconfig wlan0 essid "Your ESSID" If using a GUI there should be a network manager. If not you can install wicd. That would do it. Kind regards, Eric |
