How to make my EVDO work in Red Hat Enterprise Linux

I am using an EVDO to connect to internet in windows but each time I try to use it in my Red Hat enterprise Linux 4, it does not even mount not to talk of connecting. Is there anything I need to do for it to get mounted and start connecting. I plug it to the system using usb.

somebody should help me out.

It depends some on the modem, but you can try some howtos:

it would be nice to know which modem, maybe there's a howto specifically for it.
