How to make desktop icon for FireFox?

I have FireFox installed in /opt/firefox and have /opt/firefox added to my PATH in /etc/profile. Currently I am starting FireFox from the Konsole where I just type "firefox." This is great for me but other users of my system would appreciate a simple FireFox icon to click on. I have the icon .png, how do I make a desktop icon?

right click the desktop and select create new launcher or something like that, a dialog box will open and there should be a execute or something along that line. then type the full path to firefox in there (/opt/firefox). that will create a launcher on the desktop

I've now got the firefox icon on my desktop and the path is entered correctly. The file is ticked as executable. When I click on the icon firefox opens but the cursor has this little firefox icon beside it that blinks and down in the taskbar there is an hourglass on the firefox box. After about 20 seconds firefox just closes. Any ideas what I've done wrong or not done?

That wasn't it, or at least there was no noticable effect whether I selected executable or not. BUT I figured out what it was.

In Control Center -> Appearance & Themes -> Launch Feedback I unticked Enable Taskbar Notification and changed Busy Cursor to No Busy Cursor.

Problem Solved.
