how to make BCM4312 capable with aircrack injection?

i have installed ubuntu 10.10
the wireless adapter is BCM4312
when i write "ifconfig" it gives me eth1 instead of wlan0 or wl
but the wirless is working fine with me still have the problem that when i try to load airodump-ng eth1 it gives me the follwoing message:
ioctl(SIOCSIWMODE) failed: Invalid argument

ARP linktype is set to 1 (Ethernet) - expected ARPHRD_IEEE80211,
ARPHRD_IEEE80211_FULL or ARPHRD_IEEE80211_PRISM instead. Make
sure RFMON is enabled: run 'airmon-ng start eth1 <#>'
Sysfs injection support was not found either

any help to make it capable with injection???

Not sure if this thread is in violation of LQ Rules #13 or not.........

As far as your problem, have you put your device into monitor mode? Also, are you using drivers modified for monitor mode and injection?

As long as the question is strictly related to a software issue and not to an explicit cracking activity, it is allowed. Thank you for noticing, anyway. Be sure we keep an eye on these issues. Cheers!

I fully understand that. That's why I'm iffy about answering questions like these...

Your hardware should support injection. Try looking here http://forum.aircrack-ng.org/index.php?topic=8715.0
