How to limit number of items in .recently-used

I have FC3 test 3 - it's great!

I have a small problem here. I usually do not like (or hate) MRU (Most Recently Used) lists. I want to disable prorams write items to ~/.recently-used.

At first, I tried to chmod -rw .recently-used. It worked fine until I began using MonoDevlop. MonoDevelop fails to create new projects if it cannot write to .recently-used, so I have to chmod back.

I want to if there is a system supported way to disable this?

BTW, does anyone else share the same idea?

If using KDE go to "$HOME/user/.kde/share/config/kickerrc" and try changing "NumVisableEntrys=5" to "0". This will still write to "~/.recently-used" but not list them in the menu.
