how to into terminal mode directly?

Mine is FC6, when i boot up my linux os, it goes into GUI mode directly,not into terminal mode 1st, so how can i change mode. then i can command Startx to open the X windows

You'll need to edit /etc/inittab, and change the default run level to "3". The line "id:3:initdefault:" is what you're looking for. It should look something like this.
# Default runlevel. The runlevels used by RHS are:
#   0 - halt (Do NOT set initdefault to this)
#   1 - Single user mode
#   2 - Multiuser, without NFS (The same as 3, if you do not have networking)
#   3 - Full multiuser mode
#   4 - unused
#   5 - X11
#   6 - reboot (Do NOT set initdefault to this)
